User Types Explained

Every user type on the system has a different role:

Admin - this is the owner of the system, the decision maker. This person is able to add/remove other users and admins from the system and they can lock out integrators once the commissioning is complete. By default, this user can see all devices on the account.

User - this could be the local receptionist or even a police officer granted temporary access, usually access is only granted to a a few cameras and this user type cannot make any administrative changes to the system. Users may be granted certain permissions such as being able to issue audio challenges or disarming the alarm.

Integrator - this is a special user type that has access to a bit more information such as the partner portal, quote tool and more. This user can generally administer the system unless an Admin has disabled support access. It is not recommend to set anyone as this user type unless they are an installer and a registered TetherX partner.

What can a normal user do?

  • See Live View (either locally, over Internet or both)

  • Access, Flag, Share Recorded Events if permissions are allowed

  • Access ANPR / License Plate Information for permitted cameras

  • Arm/Disarm the Alarm Panel(s) if permitted to

What can admins do?

  • Everything users can do above, plus:

  • Create new users / adjust Users permissions

  • Access the Audit Log and see minute by minute what all users do on the system

  • Enable / Disable support access

  • Receive health notifications including TetherBox, Camera and other devices

  • Receive alarm / analytics alerts, e.g. intruder detected.

  • Tunnel to any IP device on the network

  • Admins will be notified of any login to their system, excluding logins from integrators. This is because support access can be disabled at any point by an admin and integrators frequently need to login for health information and general statistics about their installations.
โ€‹Note: Admins can still see integrator activity in the audit log.

What Can Integrators Do?

  • Most permissions are similar to Admins, except:

  • Integrators can be locked out by admins of the system

  • Integrators can access the Partner Portal for additional documentation

  • Access additional stats relating to their installations
