Before you head to the site to install your TetherX system, it's important to make sure you have everything required to get your system up and running. This simple checklist will help you get the best results for you and your customers every time:

All Installations

Whether you're installing a new or connecting to an existing system, you'll need:

  1. Your TetherBox

  2. Usernames and Passwords of the devices you wish to connect
Note: We cannot connect to Cameras, DVRs/NVRs, Alarms, etc without the correct credentials, please ensure you have access to them.

  3. Internet Connection on site
Note: Broadband, WiFi or 4G routers will all work. The system operates without the Internet but the Internet is required for provisioning.

  4. Laptop, Tablet or Smartphone
Note: Camera settings and adding users is done through the app or website.

New IP Cameras

If you're installing with new IP cameras, you'll need:

  1. Compatible IP Camera(s)

  2. Suitable PoE switch(es) & Cabling

Note: Ensure enough ports are available to support your cameras, a connection to the TetherBox, the LAN and or a router.

Existing DVR/NVRs

If you're connecting to an existing NVR/DVR, you'll need:

  1. A Compatible NVR/DVR
The unit will need to support ONVIF and/or be able to output an RTSP or HTTP stream. If unsure, check compatibility with a member of TetherX staff at support@tetherit.io

  2. Spare Network Port on the Same LAN as the NVR/DVR
Note: the TetherBox does not connect directly to any port on the NVR/DVR itself but needs its own port on a switch on the LAN).

  3. Manufacturer / Model Names / Supplier Contact Details
Note: If for any reason your system cannot provide a valid stream, it may still be possible to contact the supplier or manufacturer to request an updated firmware.
