Before You Start

Review the existing ticket before submitting an Update or Update/Remark.

Confirm that:

  • The work location and scope are still accurate

  • The ticket is still within 30 days

  • Contact information is correct

Choose the Correct Request Type

Updates can be requested for two different reasons:

Request Type

When to Use

Auto Ticket Verbiage

Update

Used to extend the life of the ticket to stay in compliance with Texas Administrative Code Chapter 18, which regulates Oil & Gas Members.

“Update – (previous ticket number)”

Update/Remark

Used when the locators’ marks are no longer visible and need to be remarked, and to extend the life of the ticket to stay in compliance with Texas Administrative Code Chapter 18, which regulates Oil & Gas members.

“Update & Remark – (previous ticket number)”

Both ticket types are issued as Update tickets and sent with a two-business day notice.

Steps to Issue an Update or Update/Remark Ticket:

  1. Go to the Ticket Details page

  2. Click Create (top left)

  3. Select Update

  4. Choose the correct Update Type from the drop-down menu

  5. Verify Contact Information - Ensure the contact information on the ticket is up to date. This is essential for effective communication with utility members. Update any fields as needed.

⚠️Important:

If the most recent ticket is over 30 days old, a new ticket must be created. This ensures all details are accurate and up to date for the work currently being done.

To check:

  1. Open Ticket History

  2. Review the Creation date of the most recent ticket
