Why One County per Request?

Each locate request must only cover one county to ensure the correct utility members are notified. This approach improves accuracy and prevents processing delays.


How to Submit Requests for Multiple Counties

Create the First Request

  1. Complete the Ticket Details:

    • Fill out all required fields for the locate request, ensuring accuracy.

    • Choose the county where the work area is located.

  2. Mark the Map:

    • Use the mapping tool to define the work site area.

    • Ensure the area marked is within the county boundary.

  3. Submit the Ticket:

    • Double-check that the map markings align with the selected county.

    • Submit the ticket once confirmed.

Note: When mapping the work area, use the County Layer to better visualize and confirm county lines.


Copy the Request for the Next County

  1. Duplicate the Original Ticket:

    • After submitting the first request, use the Copy Ticket option. This will create a new request with the same information.

  2. Update the County:

    • Change the County field to the next relevant county.

    • If applicable, update the City field to match the new county.


Adjust the Work Site Area for the New County

  1. Update the Map Markings:

    • Adjust the work area on the map so that it falls entirely within the newly selected county.

  2. Review the Request:

    • Confirm that the new map markings align with the county and city selected.

  3. Submit the Request:

    • Once all updates are complete, submit the ticket for the second county.

Note: When mapping the work area, use the County Layer to better visualize and confirm county lines.


(Optional) Add Notes for Reference

  • Use the Additional Information field to include a note for your records, such as:
    “This request is related to Ticket # [Ticket Number], which is for [County Name].”

  • One County per Ticket: Each locate request must be limited to one county to ensure the correct utility members are notified.

  • Use the County Layer: This tool helps confirm boundaries and avoid mapping errors.

  • Double-Check Map Markings: Ensure the work area is accurately marked for each county.

  • Add Notes (Optional): Linking related requests with notes can help organize your records.
