When you see the "Ticket Invalid" error message, it means the work area for your ticket has not been placed on the map. Every ticket is required to include mapped worksite details to ensure utility members are accurately notified.

Your Dig Location

What is my dig location?

Your dig location is your work site area, which must be drawn on the map to submit a ticket successfully.

How do I draw my work site area on the map?

Use the Work Area tool to define your dig location on the map and select the appropriate Geometry Type for your needs. Each geometry type is designed for specific scenarios:

  • Line Type: Best for marking narrow streets or pathways. It automatically covers 50 feet on either side of the line.

  • Area Type: Ideal for marking addresses or creating custom worksite shapes.

  • Circle Type: Perfect for marking single locations or covering small areas around a central point.

These tools ensure that your work area is accurately represented.

Important:

You must use these tools to map your location before saving your ticket.

Why is this important?

Our system is designed to validate all tickets from users who have not completed the Portal Plus training course to ensure:

  • All required information is provided.

  • Mapping aligns with the ticket details.

If a review is needed, your ticket will be sent to the center for further evaluation instead of instantly generating a ticket number. Don’t worry—you’ll receive a confirmation email with your ticket number once the review is complete!

Benefits of Accurate Mapping

This enhancement empowers you to define a precise worksite area with confidence. By mapping your locations correctly, you’ll enjoy:

  • Greater efficiency in ticket submissions.

  • A smoother project workflow with fewer errors.

  • Accurate utility member notifications, minimizing delays or confusion.

💡Pro tip:

Ensure your map markings match your ticket details exactly. Accurate mapping helps generate the most reliable list of utility members so everyone knows where work is planned.
