If you're trying to manually reorder your tasks by dragging and dropping them but nothing is happening, the most likely cause is that task sorting has been turned on. Here's how to fix it.
Why This Happens
Tezzera's task list allows you to sort tasks automatically by column — like start date, due date, or status — by clicking the column headers at the top of your task list. When sorting is active, manual drag and drop is disabled. This is because manually reordering tasks would conflict with the sort order you've applied.
This can sometimes be turned on accidentally, especially if you've clicked a column header without realizing it.
How to Tell if Sorting is Turned On
Look at the column headers at the top of your task list. If sorting is active you'll notice one of the following:
A column header has a darker background than the others
A small arrow appears next to one of the column headers
Either of these indicates that sorting is currently applied to that column.
How to Fix It
Identify which column header has the darker background or arrow
Click that column header to cycle through the sort options
First click — sorts in descending order
Second click — sorts in ascending order
Third click — turns sorting off
Click until the arrow disappears and the header returns to its normal appearance
Once sorting is turned off, hover over any task — you should see a hand icon appear, which means drag and drop is enabled again
How to Tell Drag and Drop is Working Again
When you hover over a task and see the hand icon, you're good to go. You'll be able to click and drag tasks smoothly into any order you want.
📌 Note: You can always re-enable sorting by clicking any column header again. Just remember that turning sorting back on will disable drag and drop until it's turned off again.
