Set up business categories

Configure and manage your business categories, including Departments, Roles, Branches, Cost Centres and Sectors.

You can set up business categories to use for journal reporting. Within each company, there are the following business category types.

  • Roles

  • Departments

  • Branches

  • Cost centres

  • Sectors

Add business categories

  1. Click Settings then within Reports & Journals, click Business Categories.

  2. Click the relevant category tab then click + Add.

  3. Enter a name and an optional journal code then click Save.

Edit business categories

  1. Click Settings then within Reports & Journals, click Business Categories.

  2. Click the relevant category tab then click the action cog βš™οΈ.

  3. Click Edit then make the required changes.

  4. Click Save.

Delete business categories

Before deleting, if you currently have team members within the category, you need to move them to another category.

  1. Click Settings then within Reports & Journals, click Business Categories.

  2. Click the relevant category tab then click the action cog βš™οΈ.

  3. Click Delete, then click Confirm.
