Paycircle comes with a standard set of pay elements, each with its own tax treatment, set by default in the background. There is also a standard pack of pay elements, which is set as the default for all new companies. However, you can also create new pay element packs, or set a new pack as the default, to ensure only the relevant pay elements are available to your companies. To do this, watch the video or follow the steps below.
View the default packs
To view the default pack assigned to your bureau, and all the companies in it, follow the steps below.
Click Bureau settings area, then click Pay elements.
Click the Element packs tab.
Existing packs, including the default Standard pack and Construction Industry Scheme pack will already be available to view. Any packs you have already created will also be visible.
Select a pack, and expand each of the element sections.
Create new pay element packs
A new pack can be created from scratch, or by duplicating an existing pack, and customising the pay elements available in it. To create a pack from scratch, follow the steps below.
Click Bureau settings area, then click Pay elements.
Click the New button at the top of the packs list.
Give the pack a name, and a description to help identify it.
You can also choose to set this new pack as the default by ticking the Set this as the default element pack checkbox.
To create a new pack from an existing pack, select the pack from the left hand menu.
Click the action cog ⚙️ and click Duplicate pack.
Give the new pack a name and description as normal.
Select and update the elements in a pack
Once you have created a new pack, you will need to select which pay elements are available in it. To do this, follow the steps below.
Expand each section of elements, and select or deselect the required elements.
Click Update element pack.
To update which elements are assigned to an existing pack, select and deselect the required elements as with a new pack,
Click Update element pack.
Delete a pay element pack
If you want to delete a pay element pack that is no longer in use, follow the steps below.
Click Bureau settings area, then click Pay elements.
Click the action cog ⚙️ for the pack, then click Delete.
Note: You will not be able to delete the pack that is set as the default. You will also not be able to delete a pack that is currently being used by one or more companies.
