It is easy to implement and visualualize changes to your recurring job series.

Apply to Current Job vs Apply to Current and Future Jobs:

When working within a job that is linked to a parent recurring order template, you will see a recurring arrow icon next to any line items or appointments that are set to recur/apply to future jobs. This visual aid is new and is a helpful indicator to allow users to make sense to which items are applied to future jobs.

When the recurring arrow icon is not present/visible, it mean the item/appointment is set to apply to the 'current job' only (like a one-off added service).

When you make edits to the recurring line items or appointments, you will be prompted with an option to apply your changes to the current job only OR to the current job and future jobs (including jobs that have not yet been generated).

NOTE: If you select 'apply to current job only' then that item/appointment will then no longer have the ability to later be applied to future. If you accidentally save something to apply to the current job only, you can fix that by deleting the affected item/appointment, and the create a new one, applying to future jobs accordingly. This was a constraint in the old recurring feature too, although not well-known. We have this limit/rule in place to maintain the integrity of the recurring job's data and manage the 'butterfly effect'.

Adjusting Appointment days/dates: It is now much easier to apply day/date changes for the appointments related to recurring jobs.

On any recurring job, you can edit the related appointment day/date and select apply to current and future jobs. This will change the day/date of the week/month that the recurring job's appointments are on and carry the change forward to future jobs, all while continuing to follow the parent recurring template's job-creation frequency setting.

Ex. I edit my Sunday, July 3rd appointment date to instead be Tuesday, July 5th, applied to current/future jobs.

This adjusts/pushes the next job's appointment 2 days out too.

Changes to line items or appointments related to the parent template, can also be made on the parent template itself. Any changes applied on the parent template will roll-down to any open/incomplete jobs. The question is, do you want your adjustments to affect all associated open jobs, or just certain jobs from 'x' date forward? Our recommendation - apply the change to a recent sub-job as it will serve as a better reference to what was changed, and which order/when the change was implemented, specifically.

NOTE: The parent recurring template's job creation frequency settings cannot be edited once the template is put in-motion (generate jobs). Should you need to adjust the recurring template's frequency from say, monthly, to every six months, the best thing to do is cancel the old recurring template and simply create a new recurring template with the new 'every 6 month' (26 weeks) frequency applied to it. This is again a limitation which helps us maintain the integrity of the recurring job's data and manage the 'butterfly effect' of cascading data changes.
