How to create a product Bundle

A "Bundle" is a way to group your products together, for a number of different reasons.

For rentals, it could be like a kit or combination of items that you're looking to include and track inventory for. An example would be a 20 x 20 Tent (Bundled Product) and the bundle pieces would be the legs, straps, poles, pegs and other inventory items you would need to set up that 20 x 20 Tent.

For services, it may be that you want to track a number of sub-services that are done with each main service that will be done for the customer. An example of that would be for a cleaning company. If they had a main product called "House Cleaning" but wanted to include "Bedroom", "Bathroom", etc as part of the specific services that they provided in relation to that main service.

Bundle creation exceptions: A parent bundle cannot be added as a sub-item within another bundle. A sub-item that is already tied to a bundle cannot be used to create its own parent bundle.

*If you need the bundle option turned on, please contact support.

  1. To turn an item into a Bundle, start by activating the bundle toggle within the product page.

Once you turn on the bundle option, the bundle details section will appear and can be edited/configured. This is where you can select the items to include in your bundle/kit.

2. Edit the bundle details where you can build your bundle of items. Start by setting the inventory quantity of the parent bundle. How many of these bundle/packages do you have?

Add the included sub-items to your bundle with the add line item button. Set the quantities for the included sub-items. The sub-time prices will load with the prices the items already have built into them but you can override the prices for the purpose of your bundle package. (see image below)

Click the save button to save the sub-items to your bundle.

There are 3 toggle options on the edit bundle form:

Pricing by Product/Service: Turn ON this toggle if you would like to price your bundle just using the prices of the sub-items, instead of using the parent item's price. eg. (combined value or sub-item prices will be the total price).

Leave this toggle OFF if you want the sub-item prices to get added to the main parent product's price (parent product price + sub item prices = total price).

Internal Quantity Changes: Turn ON this toggle if you would like to override the base quantities of the sub-items when the bundle is added to jobs. eg. (If 1 tent bundle typically includes 4 pegs and 4 weights, we could override the quantities to 8 if it were a windy day. see image below.) *Note: custom base-quantity changes will multiply against the quantity of the parent bundle item. ie. 5 * (bundle item quantity + changes) -> 5 * (3) = 15

Leave this toggle OFF if you want the base quantities of the sub-items to remain consistent and to increase by the multiple quantity of the parent bundle item only. eg. (All base sub-item quantities are multiplied by the quantity of the parent bundle. ie. (5 * (bundle item quantity) + changes -> 5 * (2) + 1 = 11)

Availability by Product/Service: Turn ON this toggle if you would like to limit the available parent bundle quantities if the related sub-items are not available/low-stock.

Leave this toggle OFF if you would like to see the total quantity of available parent bundle items, regardless of the available quantities of the related sub-items.
