If you are a renter, the best way to find out where your water meter is located is to ask your landlord or letting agent as they will be able to provide you with this information. You will also need to be aware of where to find the stopcock, which is the master tap in the property that can turn off all the water supply into the property.
If you live in a flat, your water meter is likely to be found in a communal cupboard or garage.
If you are a homeowner and unsure on where to locate your water meter you can find it in the inside of your property or on the outside. If you believe your water meter is located inside your property, the most common place it will be is under your kitchen sink, in a basement or garage. If you think your water meter is on the outside of your property, it is often located near the boundary of your property, usually in your front garden or on your front pavement, in an underground chamber which is marked ‘water’ or in a box fitted on the outside wall of your property.
If you still can’t locate your meter, feel free to contact us and we will find out this information on your behalf.
