We measure our trees from the base to the very top of the tip. To choose the right size, measure your ceiling height and consider whether you’ll be using a tree topper — you may be comfortable trimming a few inches off the tip once it’s set up.
One of the most common issues customers mention is difficulty visualizing size.
Tree Height
Below is a visual that I like to share with customers. I'm 5'8" and here is how I view the most common tree sizes:
A 5'–6' ft tree feels shorter than me because the tip is around eye level.
A 6'–7' ft tree feels similar to my height, with mostly the tip above my head.
A 7–8 ft tree feels noticeably large compared to my height.
Tree Width
Taller trees typically have wider bases and require more floor space. Because every tree grows naturally, its exact shape and width will vary.
Delivery notes: how to request your preferred tree shape or height
If you would like a slimmer, narrower tree, a wider, fuller tree, or a tree closer to a specific height within your selected size range, please include your request in the delivery notes at checkout (for example, “slimmer tree,” “fuller tree,” or “closer to 7.5 ft”).
While we will always do our best to accommodate your preference, we cannot guarantee a specific shape or exact height due to the natural variation in each tree.
Important Note: include the tip when choosing your tree size
The tip is the single upright branch at the very top of the tree and is typically about 6–12 inches long. Christmas tree farms generally include the tip when measuring a tree’s total height, and we do as well.
When selecting your tree size, measure your ceiling height and allow enough space for the full tip—plus a tree topper, if you plan to use one. Without enough clearance, the tip could bend, break, scratch your ceiling, or need to be trimmed more than you would like.
