MDsleep™ uses valerian root as a base ingredient due to it’s proven benefits to improve sleep. Valerian root contains a variety of natural compounds, including valerianic acid and volatile oils, which contribute to its taste and aroma. These compounds can have a bitter and pungent flavor profile. We manufacture all of our products with minimal processing and fewer additives, which means the natural flavors may be more noticeable than other over processed supplements.
Its normal for MDsleep™ botanical to taste a bit “spicy” due to the ingredients we use. Whether or not a botanical is spicy depends on its chemical composition and the choice of botanicals is due to their well documented health benefits.
