The SS is a visual representation of your client's journey; how you get them from Point A to Point B with a specific timeline and currency - the measurable result that you provide for your clients, or that they provide for themselves.
It shouldn't be a menu of your services, it should be the path that all successful clients take to get results. Even if they never work with you; ie if you're writing a book, it might represent the three main sections.

It's important to point out that it's not just a marketing piece; in many times it's how people come up with the products, train their team, establish the values of the organization, and deliver things like training and coaching so they can leverage themselves.

The Profit Pyramid is "where are they now?". If you take your target market and break it into 4 different phases, in the bottom, people are absolutely struggling, no idea and no momentum. On the top, people don't even need to work with you, because they're at the top of their game. Then you have Levels 2 and 3, where you usually focus your time. So the PP is where you create your own grading mechanism. That's why it's so powerful.

For example, a client of Aaron's created a Scale Safe Measurement tool, so all start-up SaaS companies can evaluate where they are in terms of security. They score a 1,2,3 or 4 and then you simply say "here's where you are now...here's the one key to success" in general terms. It's not a roadmap or path, it's a self-evaluation and grading too.

In marketing, you need to have both of them and use both of them in virtually every marketing message/campaign/sale letter/webinar that you deploy. You simply show them both of them, and ask them 1. Where are you now? and 2. Where do you want to go. The Profit Pyramid helps them self select and say "yes, I'm at Level 2" and no-one's shown them such a visual way to assess where they are. Then it's easy to say, "Ok, since you're at Level 2, we have a 90/180 day program to get you to Level 3 and 4..."

The Profit Pyramid is "Where are you now?" a self-selection tool.
The Signature Solution is your roadmap/journey/blueprint/framework to get them from where they are now to where they want to go.
One is Where and the other one is How!
