Understanding Fund Balance

What does my available and current balance mean, and what is pending activity on my balance?

Updated over 2 years ago

You will notice both a current balance and available balance on your fund’s dashboard. The available balance is the balance that you can use to recommend grants from. It shows the fund amount available outside of pending activity. This available balance will change as your investments are reconciled.

Example numbers used in fund dashboard balances.

If you have designated the use of multiple types of investment pools with your investment and divestment instructions, you may notice the available balance fluctuate as money is sometimes batched into each type of investment pool at different times throughout a day.

Understanding Pending Activity

"Deposits" is used as a pending activity identifier term as it can include not only contributions, but fund to fund transfers and investment earnings.

"Withdrawals" is used as a pending activity identifier term as it can include not only grants, but expenses and fees, investment losses, and fund to fund transfers.
