Access
To access the recruitment module, you must firstly have the correct user roles. You will need Succession Access and Add Target Assessments Reports access. You will also need to be assigned to the recruitment teams and age groups which you are recruiting for. Your club administrator can allocate user roles for you and assign you to the relevant recruitment teams/age groups.
Creating bespoke target assessment reports
To be able to build out target assessment report templates, you must either be the Club Administrator of head of recruitment with the Recruitment Administrator user role.
By logging in to the platform, clicking on the System module and accessing the Recruitment tab you will see an option to be able to access the Recruitment Assessment Reports Templates page.
From within here you can build out the relevant templates (these could be age group specific, position specific or just general reports). You have flexibility on how these reports will look for you and what type of fields the scouts will be completing – Grading, Text, Traffic Light etc.
New Template – This is the name for which the scouts will see when choosing which report to add against a player
Additional options – Next to the Assessment Report Name, you will see a number of additional options such as, Show Totals, Include Spider Chart, Show Position, Show Custom Position, Show Summary, Hide Recommended Checkbox – for further information on any of these, please contact the support desk
Building the Template
You must first add the Field Categories and Fields. This allows you to organise the report template when you come to build it.
Field Categories – each assessment report field is assigned to a category. These categories can be reported on to provide you a good summary of player grading. An example of a category may be Technical
Fields – each assessment report field is assigned to a category. The fields can be reported on individually or can be used as a number of fields to make up a category value. An example could be that under a Category of Technical, you may have fields such as Shooting, Passing, Running with the Ball.
Field types include:
Radio Buttons (Range) – A numerical range can be added for athletes to pick their answers within that. The range is added in the “answer range” boxes
Radio Buttons (Options) – A word or short sentence can be used as an answer to a question. These are input in the “Answer Options” box with each answer separated by a , (comma)
Drop Down List (Single Selection) - A word or short sentence can be used as an answer to a question. The options for this question will appear in a list format and only one answer can be selected
Check boxes (Multiple Selection) - A word or short sentence can be used as an answer to a question. The options for this question appear next to boxes where more than one option can be selected
Number – A number can be given as an answer into a box
Text – Some text can be given as an answer into a box
Once you have created your categories and fields, you will assign them to the assessment template in the order you wish them to appear to the scout when adding the report against a player.
You do this by going to the page with the Recruitment Assessment Reports page
From the cog on the right-hand side of the report click Modify Content
Add the relevant fields from the bank of fields on the right
You can reorder or remove fields from the list on the left which is the list of fields you will see when adding your scout reports
Adding a new assessment report against a player
To add a new report against a player, you must firstly locate the player in the database. Access the Player Search page via the main Navigation Menu – usually found under Recruitment, depending on what system you are using.
Once you have located the player via the search, you can either go directly in to the players record by clicking on the players name or you can access information from the Cog wheel associated with the player.
Clicking on a player will open up the ‘edit’ page > from here you will use the ‘related’ links across the top of the page to access Reports
Clicking on the Cog wheel will provide further options ad from this drop down, one of the options is Reports
Once you have clicked on the reports link, you will be taken to that specific players reports section where you will be able to see any previously added Active or Archived Reports. From here you will also be able to see the different types of reports which have been designed and created by your organisation.
Click to add a new report, this will take you in to the ‘add/edit’ mode of a new report where you will be able to start completing the template.
As standard there is a Title Field (you may want to use this to state the game or title for report), Report Date, Summary Table (this will populate directly in to the players summary for further analysis).
All other fields are defined by the club and specific to your outcomes.
Once you have completed the template, click to add the report and this will added against the players profile.
OTHER FEATURES
Searching on players - As you start to build out reports against a player, if you are using numerical grading, this provides you with greater advanced searching capabilities when searching players meeting key criteria within your database (see the player search document for more assistance with this)
Player summary – when you access a players summary page, if there are reports with numerical fields and categories, you have the ability to see a radar graph which may highlight areas of strength and weakness for a player based on the reports added against their profile
