Access
To access the recruitment module, you must firstly have the correct user roles. You will need Succession Access and Add/Modify Target Players and Match Line Ups user roles. You will also need to be assigned to the recruitment teams and age groups which you are recruiting for. Your club administrator can allocate user roles for you and assign you to the relevant recruitment teams/age groups.
Locate the pages from which to add a new match line up to the database via the main Navigation Menu – usually found under Recruitment, depending on what system you are using.
Adding a new match line up
When you access the view/add match line up page you will see that you have a number of filters to be able to view previously added scouted fixtures. Using these filters will filter the scouted fixtures which you have visibility of based on your selections made. At the top of the page, you will see a related link labelled Add Match Line Up. Click on this link to be taken to the ‘Add Match Line Up’ page.
Match Details
When you add a new fixture/line up, there are a number of basic fields to fill in such as the date, time, score and who the scout was. There are also some generic fields called Conditions (this could be the format of the game, weather conditions, surface type etc) and also Comments. This comments box provides your summary of the fixture and upon searching through your scouted fixtures, provides you with a pop up which allows you to quickly see the notes from a game.
Club Defined Fields
Your club / organisation has the ability to configure a number of fields within this section. This includes the Fixture Type, Area, Competition, Age Group and Clubs (home team and away team)
Standard Scouted Fixtures Database (Regional Scouting Database turned off)
When the standard configuration is set up for a club, this allows the scout to choose from a flat list of the options available in Fixture Type, Area, Competition, Age Group and Clubs (home team and away team)
Club defined Scouted Fixtures Database (Regional Scouting Database turned on)
When a club decides that they would like to define all of the Areas, Competitions, Age Groups, Clubs, this provides greater restrictions from what the scouts can add to the system.
Scouts are assigned to the relevant area(s) for which they cover. When they add a scouted fixture, they can only select from this/these area(s).
After selecting the area, this then opens up the Competition drop down and they get a list of all competitions which are associated with that area.
After selecting the competition, this then opens up the Age Group drop down and they get a list of the age groups.
After selecting the relevant age group, this then opens up the Home Team and Away Team drop down and they het a list of the teams associated to the Area, Competition and Age Group as per previous selections.
Add a new Team
When you have completed the details of the fixture and you get to the Home Team and Away Team drop downs, clicking on the drop down wlill allow you to ‘type and find’ to see if the team is already in the database.
If the team is not in the database, there is an option to ‘Insert New Club’.
Click on this option and add in the name of the new club
Adding Match Line of Players
Whilst adding in a basic scouted fixture, there is the ability to add players directly to the databsse, or complete a search to include players who may already be in the database.
Below the home and away team drop downs, you will see there is the option to populate up to 18 players per team.
New Player Basic details – this includes the ability to add new players to the database including information such as Forename, Surname, Gender, Date of Birth, Shirt Number, Comments, Team to Recruit for, Current Status, Primary Position, Primary Custom Position and Game Position.
Existing Player – Click on the existing player drop down and search for a players name to confirm if they are already in the database
Saving With or Without Attachments
Once you are happy with the content included within your scouted fixture, you will have two options:
Insert Line Up – clicking on this will insert the line up/fixture to the database
Insert Line Up with Attachments – clicking on this will open up the option to allow you to add an attachment against a fixture – you can then choose from your phone, tablet or desktop library.
Duplicate Players
Upon adding a player to the database, if the system believes there is already a player matching the player you are trying to add (forename, surname, date of birth), you will be provided with a pop up which will allow you to confirm (you will then be linked to the existing player) or decline and add this player as a new player.
