Introduction
Currently the CSV Importer supports the data import for GPS, Fitness and Medical Tests.
On the very first time of using, you will need to build a mapping template for your data. This is the process to make sure that the correct data from the csv file goes to the correct players and metrics in your Sports Office platform. You can build and save as many templates as needed which can be used going forward to speed the process of your data imports in the future.
Your csv file will need to have a column for your players, a column for the date and a column for each metric or data point you wish to import.
Creating a Template
To start, select the type of data you are importing, select the date format on the csv, select your file and click 'Upload File' on the right hand side.
PLEASE NOTE: The time it takes to process the upload will depend on a number of factors including the size of the file, the browser you are using and the hardware of your device. If it fails, try using a smaller file size before contacting Support for further help.
Once the file processes, you should be presented with the csv in the preview panel to review the Player and Metric mappings.
Athlete/Player Match
The system will automatically Player match based on Name as long as they match in both the csv and Sports Office database. We have various Player Name formats to help the automatically match the Name format on the csv file.
If the players do not automatically match, you can manually map the players using the player picker.
Click the empty name field to show the Player mapping pop up > From here you can search for any active player in the Sports office Database.
Once you have selected the relevant player > Click Ok
You can Save this mapping so that it remembers it for next time by clicking the save icon on the right side of the name:

Data/Metric Match
Similarly, the system will automatically Metric match based on Name as long as they match in both the csv and Sports Office database.
You typically add metrics in the System area of Sports Office.
For GPS > System > Fitness > GPS Headers
For Fitness tests > System > Fitness > Testing
For Medical Tests > System > Medical > Medical Tests
If the Metrics do not automatically match, you can manually map these using the metric picker.
You can choose to match as many of the metrics as you wish. For example, you may only want to match up the data metrics that you are interested on reporting on. So your GPS export may have 60 metrics but you only want to import 10. Any metrics that are not mapped will not be imported.
Saving the template
Once you have mapped the players and the metrics to the correct players and metrics in Sports Office, you can Save the template. In the top right menu > click the 3 dots to Save Template > Give the template a name and click Save.

The next time you come to import data in the future, you can select the template from the 'Mapping Template' field.
Other Features
Ignoring Columns
You have the option to ignore a certain metric data set in case you wish to omit that data from a particular upload. This does not affect the template permanently just for the import in question.
To ignore Metric columns click the 'Ignore Columns' option and check the metrics you wish to ignore.
Ignoring Players
|You have the option to ignore a players data set in case you wish to omit that data from a particular upload.
To ignore a player click the eye icon to the left of the player name:
This will ignore the entire row of data for any players selected.
Overwriting Existing Data
Underneath the Review panel, there is an option to overwrite existing data. It defaults to YES but you can change this if you do not wish to overwrite data already in the Sports Office database.
Import Empty Values
An option to help users delete mass data from the database if needed. USE CASE - You wish to remove data from a previous import. You can delete from the csv file > re-upload to Sports Office > Import empty values =YES, Overwrite Existing data=YES.
This should now remove the relevant data from the database.
