Hello friends,
As many of you know, I got married in April and took a honeymoon 15 timezones away from Austin, TX. It gave me wonderful perspective to be far from the day-to-day, and it gave me the opportunity to casually talk with a bunch of you about what you love about Centered...and to learn with a beginner's mind what keeps you coming back month after month.
Listening to you refreshed my heart.
I thought I would arrive at a clear sense that "the killer feature that everyone loves is..." but what I learned was that the reason you come back is not any one feature...it is how this platform makes you feel. I was reminded of Kent C. Dodds' tweet:
Many of you talked about a "3pm Slump" the days you don't use Centered: a moment in the afternoon when your productivity and focus fall off a cliff of burnout and "where did the day go? I still have so much to do!"
I love that you said with Centered you look up at 3pm and you're like, "wow - my todo list is done for the day and I feel energized."
In Sanskrit this feeling is "Sukha." The happiness of self-fulfillment. It's from "Su"=good + "Kha"=place.
And I bought the app and renamed it "The Sukha Company" to keep this good place available for you.
We are still going to support productivity...but never lose our focus on happiness and that great feeling when you're working and you're "in the Zone."
With Michael Cash, my new co-founder whom many of you know as the brilliant mind of our Customer Success and Operations, we intend to double down on building out more supportive communities and engaged Coaches. We love seeing chat messages between Coaches and members like this:
We are grateful to my great friend Ulf, who founded Centered, for selling us the app so we can use that codebase as the foundation for The Sukha Company.
A few technical things to note:
When we move the app over to our new servers (www.TheSukha.co), your account will transfer but you'll need to login again with your same credentials.
The Centered Movement Group is now The Sukha Tribe.
I'm sure there will be some technical burps over the next day or two as we move all the servers, so please be patient with us - and reach out to Support@TheSukha.co if you have issues. We promise to fix 'em.
With great respect, Michael and I welcome you to a new day at The Sukha.
