Notifications help you keep in touch with your Mighty community.

There are three main ways to receive notifications from The Mighty:

  • Push notifications through the mobile app

  • On-site notifications that you get through your account while logged in.

  • Email notifications.

Push notifications

What are push notifications from The Mighty?

On a mobile device, apps can "push" a notification to your phone. They are a convenient way to let you know some of what's happening when you are not on the app.

If you use The Mighty mobile app, you can choose to get push notifications from The Mighty, or turn them off completely.

Mobile app push notifications can include:

  • When someone sends a new Direct Message.

  • When someone comments on your post.

  • When someone reacts to your post.

  • If there's a new post in a group you follow.

How do I manage my push notifications from The Mighty?

Push notifications are enabled by default for members with the Mighty mobile app. You can enable or disable any of them. From here, you can also manage your email notifications.

To manage your mobile push notifications:

  • Open the Mighty mobile app. Log into your account if you are not already logged in.

  • From your home page, tap your avatar/icon in the top right corner. This will take you to your profile page.

  • Select the menu icon (three vertical dots) in the top right corner. This will pull up a menu.

  • Select "Preferences" from the menu. This will open your Preferences page.

  • Select "Notifications". This will open the page where you can select which push notifications you would like to receive. You can select or deselect any ones you like. Your changes are saved automatically.

Site notifications

What are site notifications?

Site notifications are available while you are logged in on The Mighty. These notifications can be accessed by selecting the bell icon on the top right of your screen. You can access site notifications in both a web browser and through The Mighty mobile app when you are logged into your account.

Site notifications include the following:

  • When someone comments on your post or poll.

  • When someone replies to your comment.

  • When someone reacts to your post or comment.

  • When a poll you voted in has closed.

  • For group leaders, when there's a post or comment that need moderating.

You can also receive a notification for Direct Messages (DMs). These are under your mailbox icon, rather than under the bell icon.

Where can I see my site notifications?

In either a web browser or in The Mighty mobile app:

  • Log into your Mighty account if you are not already logged in.

  • Select the bell icon in the top-right corner. This will open a list with your most recent notifications, with the most recent at the top.

  • To see more notifications, scroll to the bottom of the notifications list and select "See all Notifications" (on web) or "See more" (on app).

Can I turn off some site notifications?

Site notifications cannot be turned off. It is an automatic feed for you on The Mighty to keep a record for you on the site.

Email notifications

Email notifications are sent to the email address associated with your Mighty account.

Email notifications can include the following:

  • When someone comments on your post or poll.

  • When someone replies to your comment.

  • When someone comments on a post you follow.

How do I manage my email notifications?

If you are using the Mighty mobile app, you can manage your email notification preferences by following the same instructions used for managing your push notifications: How do I manage my push notifications from The Mighty?

If you are using The Mighty on web:

  • Select your avatar/icon in the top-right of the screen. This will open a meny.

  • Select Preferences from the menu. This will open your preferences page.

  • Scroll down to the section titled Email Notifications. Make your preferred changes.

  • When done, select "Save" at the top.
