1. How does Thinkster Math Work?

For grades K-8, your child will complete worksheets (we recommend 1-2 per day). There are video tutorials embedded to help explain strategies. Once completed, the teacher will go through that assignment and provide feedback and grading and comments. The teacher is monitoring assignments daily and will make note of specific questions or topics to cover during the tutoring session. With the Gold plan, it is 30 minutes every 2 weeks. The teacher will display certain things on the screen and help coach your child through methods for solving.

We have lots of kids on the program with different learning goals and needs. Because Thinkster is highly personalized, the coach working with your child will ensure the learning plan best suits their needs (remedial help, supplemental work, advanced work, etc).

For the programs and grades covered:

We have tutoring + worksheets for Kindergarten - 8th grade. Kids as young as 4 or 5 join the program in order to start building computational skills. We offer a Silver, Gold, and Platinum program. For more information on these programs, click here.

We also have tutoring session bundles available for all grades up through 12th grade. You can learn more here.

2. What are your pricing options? Do you have a sibling discount?

We offer 3 different pricing programs for our worksheets + tutoring packages: Silver, Gold, and Platinum.

Pricing for the program varies based on the type of plan you are choosing (some come with more interactions with a coach) and the grade/year of your child.

We do offer a sibling discount of $5 off every month for 2 kids ($10 off for 3, $15 off for 4, etc).

You can review our pricing programs here.

3. What happens during the trial week?

Once you register for the 7-day free trial, you and your child can expect:

  • Your child first completes a Skill Assessment. The assessment can be done on a Chrome or Safari browser on any computer or tablet. Or, if you have an iPad, have your child complete the assessment on the Thinkster Math Tutoring iPad App.

  • Speak with an Academic Advisor OR attend a webinar.

  • Your child is assigned more practice worksheets so that they can begin working from their hyper-personalized learning plan.

  • We match your child with their dedicated math tutor - who will schedule a web session to discuss the learning plan, learn more about your child, and answer any questions.

4. What curriculum do you follow?

We have our own world-class curriculum that is aligned to Common Core State Standards and based on Singapore math.

Our world-class curriculum will ensure that your child is working on concepts that develop not only computational skills, but analytical and critical thinking skills as well. Your child moves onto more complex concepts after obtaining and showing proficiency and mastery.

You can explore more on our world-class curriculum and the topics/concepts by grade level here.

5. How to measure progress and show learning improvements?

Following progress and performance on Thinkster Math is easy, and there are many different ways to track your child's learning improvements.

On the iPad app or Student Web App, you can click on the 'Progress' button to view your child's dynamic Progress Matrix. This is a chart of all the topics and concepts your child will show mastery for each grade level. After any unit test or Skills Assessment, you will see visual changes on the matrix to represent your child's proficiency level.

Your child's Thinkster coach will also email a weekly report to share insight on your child's worksheet submissions and feedback.

We also have a Parent Insights App for tracking performance improvements! Use this app daily to track your child’s math activity and feedback from your child’s dedicated tutor. Compare your child’s performance to all other students including topics and number of assignments completed, time taken on assignments, accuracy, reward points won and gift cards received!

We’d love to chat with you about Thinkster! You can schedule a call with an Academic Advisor so that we can help with any additional questions!
