What can the PCOS test tell me?

Our PCOS package can help you understand if symptoms like irregular periods, acne, difficulty getting pregnant, or excess body hair might be caused by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

If you have PCOS, this test can also help you monitor:

  • manage your symptoms

  • lower your risk of longer-term issues associated with PCOS — like high blood sugar levels

Can this test diagnose PCOS?

No, a blood test alone cannot diagnose PCOS.

But this test will check if you have high testosterone levels — one of the main features of PCOS.

If they're high, and you have either irregular periods or an ultrasound scan confirming polycystic ovaries, you can make a PCOS diagnosis.

When should I do this test?

The best time to do this test is on day 3 of your cycle (day 1 is your first day of bleeding) — this is when your results can be accurately interpreted.

If you have irregular periods
We recommend waiting until you have a period to get the most useful insights from this test.

If you have no periods
You can do this test at any time, but it might be harder for our doctors to interpret your results.

Does my kit expire?

You can use your kit anytime up until the expiry date (written on the side of the tube). It's often months away so you've got plenty of time.
