How do I use Coach Control to assist my client?

Updated over 7 months ago

Important Note: Your client must have Portal Status = Active to use Coach Control. If your client does not have an active account yet, please ask them to activate their account from their invite link, or assist them by using their invite link to sign in.

How to access Coach Control

Access Coach Control from the Thrive Admin Hub.

By selecting Coach Control from a User's profile, you will gain access to their Thrive experience and be able to perform actions on their behalf such as saving jobs, building resumes, adding items to their to-do list and updating accounts in real-time!

To enter Coach Control mode on Thrive, search for the user whose account you would like to temporarily access. Once you're on that user's profile, click the dark blue Coach Control button and then the Let's go! button.

Once you are logged into the User's Dashboard, you will see a banner at the top of the page.

When you are done assisting your client via Coach Control, remember to Sign Out of their account by selecting their name in the top right corner and clicking Logout.

How to help your clients with Coach Control

Resumes

Using Coach Control, you can help Users build or upload and refine their resume(s). To do so, select Resumes from the left-hand panel and either select Start With AI, Upload Resume or Create Resume. From there, enter as much information as needed for each field.

Uploaded resumes will be displayed in a Thrive template format. It is recommended to spend a few minutes reformatting the resume.

Job Tracker

While using Coach Control, you can search for and save jobs on a User's behalf from within Thrive and on major Job Boards. You can provide valuable advice on what to search for and what jobs would match a User's profile and career path.

We recommend using the Chrome Extension to save the full job posting from job boards such as Indeed. Search for a role on Indeed, save any jobs of interest with the Chrome Extension and review them in the Job Tracker. You can re-categorize each position and assist users to apply for roles.

Career Path Explorer

Helping a User plan their career path begins with identifying their skills. By using the Career Path Explorer tool, you can create learning and development plans for upskilling and reskilling, plus see what relevant job opportunities are available in their area. Select Career Path Explorer and scroll down. From there, you can either upload or select a saved resume to populate a skills analysis or SkillsID. Select Explore Careers, to find careers for your client based on their skill set. Select Learn More to see a geographic breakdown by job title and Recommended Jobs at the bottom of the page.
