In the early days of Thrive, coaches were asked to create a .thrive Gmail account when joining the platform.
Since then the platform has evolved and this is no longer required.
You can now log in using your own email address without affecting how the platform works.
There is no need to change your login email unless you want to manage all Thrive activity from your own primary email account.
If you decide to move fully to your own email address and no longer use the .thrive Gmail account, we recommend deleting the unused account to avoid confusion or unused accounts remaining active.
Important to Know
The email used to log in to Thrive is separate from calendar accounts linked for availability and scheduling
Changing your login email address does not change linked calendars
You may have multiple calendars linked
If you want to replace a calendar account, you must unlink the old calendar and link the new one manually
FAQ
Will my existing bookings remain in place after I switch to my own email address?
Yes.
What happens to my current calendar sync once the Thrive login email address is changed?
Nothing. If you want to replace an existing linked calendar, then you need to unlink the previous linked calendar and link the new calendar.
Do I need to reconnect my calendar after changing my Thrive login email address?
If you wish to change a linked calendar from a .thrive Gmail account to another account, then you will need to delink the .thrive Gmail account and link your other account.
Will clients still see the same availability when booking sessions?
The availability shown to clients depends on your published availability and linked personal calendars.
If you link a different calendar with different personal events, then availability may be different.
Will previous session history and notes remain linked to my account?
Yes.
Do I need to update my availability again after switching emails?
No. However, if you have linked a different calendar, you may wish to verify your availability is as expected.
Will reminders and notifications still be sent to me automatically?
Yes.
What happens if I already have bookings in the next few weeks?
Bookings are not affected by a change of login email or a change of linked calendars.
Can I switch back to the previous email if something goes wrong?
Yes, as long as you haven't deleted the previous email account. You would need to change the email address used for Thrive login and any linked calendars.
