How do I view a client’s goals and actions?

How to support your clients with achieving their goals

Written by Minna Vaisanen

You can view goals that a client has shared with you from My Clients or from the Session Details page.

The Goals feature helps you and your client review what they want to achieve, the actions they plan to take and their progress.

How do I view goals from My Clients?

  1. Sign in to your MyThrive coach account.

  2. Select My Clients.

  3. Find the relevant client.

  4. Select the three-dot menu at the end of their row.

  5. Select View Goals.

  6. Select a goal from the list to view its details.

How do I view goals from a booked session?

  1. Select My Sessions.

  2. Find the relevant session.

  3. Select View to open Session Details.

  4. Stay on the Overview tab.

  5. Find the More section in the Session Overview panel.

  6. Select View client goals.

What information can I see?

For each goal shared with you, you may be able to see:

  • the goal title;

  • the client’s description;

  • whether the goal is open or closed;

  • the target date;

  • action items;

  • which action items have been completed; and

  • the client’s confidence rating.

The confidence rating shows how confident the client feels about achieving the goal and completing its action items.

Use this information to prepare for your session, review progress and agree the next steps with your client.

What if the goal is private?

Clients control whether they share their goals with you.

If a goal is private, you may be able to see that it exists and whether it is open or closed. You won’t be able to view its description, target date, action items or confidence rating.

Contact the client and ask them to share the goal if they would like to discuss it during coaching.

Can I change the client’s goals or action items?

Goals and action items belong to the client. Use them to support the coaching conversation, review progress and help the client decide what they want to do next.

Discuss any suggested changes with the client so they can update their goal or action items.
