Introducing Thrive 2.0

Everything you need to know to get the most out of Thrive.

Written by Kelsey Chan

Explore the new homepage

The Thrive homepage has three widgets to orient you after logging in.

Tasks

The tasks widget shows a list of tasks assigned to you, with relevant details like project name, related candidates, and due dates. Toggle to the Completed tab at the top to see a list of recently completed tasks.

Events

The events widget is a calendar view of your events for the day. Click into each event to see more details.

Projects

The projects widget shows the projects you're working on. Projects are categorized as open, on hold, not started, closed, and canceled. For each project, you can see the project name, company location, the person leading the project, and information about the number of candidates.

Create and Work on a Project

In 2.0, searches are now referred to as projects. Create a new project in Thrive by clicking the plus button in the top right corner and select "Create Project." This will open a side panel where you can fill out the project details.

Enter the job title, company, and team lead. Thrive will automatically set you as one of the team members. Once you add the details, click "Create" to start the project.

The Project Detail page in Thrive is your central hub to manage all aspects of a project (Remember, in Thrive 2.0, projects = searches).

Sections

The page is organized into several key sections:

  • Side Panel: Clicking on the title of the project on the top left will open a side panel with detailed information about the project, including the position description, project strategy, notes, and outreach history.

  • Stages and Candidates: This section displays the different stages of your recruitment process (e.g., Recruiter Interview, On-Site Interview) with the number of candidates in each stage.

  • Candidate Information: When you click on a stage, you see a list of candidates within that stage. Details include their name, title, company, associated tags, relationship manager, last outreach date, and any relevant scorecards, assessments, or tasks.

Views

You can view the candidate information in two ways:

  • List View: Provides a detailed focus on candidates within a single stage.

  • Kanban View: Offers a high-level overview of all candidates across all stages, allowing you to drag and drop candidates between stages for easy management.

Additional Features

The Project Detail page also includes features for:

  • Searching: Find candidates by name or title.

  • Filtering and Sorting: Refine the candidate list based on various criteria.

  • Sourcing: Add new candidates to the project.

  • Task Management: Create and manage tasks related to the project or specific candidates.

Set Your Strategy and Source Candidates

Strategy

The search strategy section in Thrive helps you and your team define and align on the approach for finding the right candidates. You can access the search strategy section by opening the side panel for the project and going to the strategy tab.

The key components include:

  • Tags: Add tags relevant to the search, such as skills, experience, or location. Some tags may already be added based on the company.

  • Target Companies: Identify companies you want to focus on for sourcing candidates.

  • Benchmark Candidates: Specify individuals who represent the ideal profile for the position.

  • Similar Projects: Link to other projects that might offer relevant insights or inspiration.

  • Interview Scorecard: Select a scorecard template to use for evaluating candidates during interviews. The template includes criteria, definitions, and star ratings to guide the assessment.

By filling out the strategy section, everyone on the project team can have a clear understanding of the search approach and the desired candidate profile.

Source Candidates

Quickly add candidates to your project by clicking the "Source Candidates" button, which opens a side panel with a list of recommended candidates based on the search strategy for the project. This draws from information based on selected target companies, benchmark candidates, and similar projects.

If you want to search for candidates yourself, you can type in keywords such as title, company, or name.

Easily add candidates to your project by clicking the plus button next to their names. This option appears when you hover over the candidate.

You can add multiple candidates at once by clicking the checkbox next to their name.

Learn About Candidates

Candidate Side Panel

The candidate side panel in Thrive gives you a comprehensive view of a candidate's qualifications and background. You can open the candidate side panel by clicking on their name.

Here are the key sections of the candidate side panel:

  • Candidate Card: Candidate's name, stage, off-limits status, and contact links

  • Overview: A high-level summary of the candidate, including tags, an AI-generated summary, and a glimpse of their experience, notes, outreach, and scorecards

  • Experience: Candidate's work history and education

  • Notes: Notes taken by you and others in your firm about the candidate

  • Outreach: A history of outreach sent to the candidate

  • Scorecards: Assessments done for the candidate and their ratings

  • Events: Interviews and meetings you've had with the candidate

Other tabs, such as off-limits history, documents, and compensation details, may also be available.

Candidate Analytics

The other way to learn about candidates is through the Candidate Analytics report, which provides valuable insights into your candidate pool and their progress throughout the hiring process. To access Candidate Analytics, click on the project and navigate to the "Analytics" tab.

Within this report, you'll find the following information:

Overall Project Stats

  • Total Candidates: The total number of candidates associated with the project.

  • Active Candidates: The number of candidates currently being considered.

Charts and Visualizations

  • Candidate Pipeline: Shows the distribution of candidates across different stages in the hiring process, both in terms of the number of candidates and the percentage of the total candidate pool

  • Rejected Candidates: Breaks down the reasons why candidates were rejected, helping you identify any trends or areas for improvement in your process.

  • Candidates Added Week to Week: Displays the inflow of candidates over time, allowing you to track the effectiveness of your sourcing efforts

  • Candidate Pool: A detailed overview of the characteristics of your candidate pool, including their companies, titles, locations, sectors, and company sizes.

By analyzing this information, you can better understand your candidate sources, identify bottlenecks in your pipeline, and make data-driven decisions to optimize your hiring process.

Log Candidate Outreach, Interviews, and Assessments

Thrive offers several workflows to help you manage candidates.

Logging Outreaches

You can log an outreach by clicking the quick action button on the candidate card. This opens the outreach form, where you can fill out details about the outreach, such as the project, candidate, subject, and method. You can also use the Gmail integration to push emails from your email client into Thrive.

Scheduling Interviews

You can schedule an interview by clicking the "Add Event" quick action button on the candidate card. This opens the event form, where you can fill out the event details, such as the date, time, event type, location, and attendees. Once you have the details, click "Create" to create the event. If you have the calendar integration set up, the event will be reflected on your calendar.

Logging Assessments and Scorecards

Once you have completed an interview, you can log the assessment and scorecard by opening the candidate's profile and going to the scorecard section. You can create a new scorecard by clicking the plus button. This opens the scorecard form, where you can add notes and fill in your star ratings for each criterion.

Create, Assign, and Manage Tasks

Thrive provides a task management system to help you stay organized and coordinate with your team. To view your tasks, click the task icon. This will show you a list of tasks assigned to you and your team members.

You can complete tasks by clicking the checkbox or opening the task form and marking it as complete.

To create a new task, click the plus button. You can then name the task, assign it to a project and team member, and set a due date. Completed tasks are shown in the completed form.

Extend a Job Offer

When you're ready to extend an offer to a candidate in Thrive, move them into the "Offer" stage within the project. This will open an offer form where you fill in the details.

The offer form will automatically populate with the candidate's information and the current date. Select the candidate's start date and upload a document with the offer details. Fill out the offer details in the form.

Search and Discover Candidates in Your Database

Search for people in your Thrive database by navigating to the People page and using the search bar.

Filter your search results by company, location, and sector.

To further refine your search, you can open the filter panel and filter by title, function, seniority, experience, and skill. You can also pull from past projects or specific lists you have created.

Build Lists

Thrive's Lists feature allows you to organize people and companies into lists for specific purposes, such as grouping talent by function or sector, or organizing companies you've worked with.

To manage lists, go to the Lists page and navigate between People Lists and Company Lists.

In People Lists, view individuals in a specific list, see their profiles, and take actions like adding them to another list, adding them to a project, or logging outreaches and events. Company Lists function similarly, allowing you to view and open company profiles.

To create a new list, click the "Create a List" button, give it a name, and add people or companies by clicking the plus button next to their profiles in the search results.
