Best Practices to Reduce Profile PDF Downloads

Use these tips to conserve your 200 profile downloads per month

Written by Kelsey Chan

The new Side Panel Chrome Extension helps you expand your pool of contacts in Thrive by extracting data from a candidate's profile PDF on LinkedIn.

LinkedIn’s Terms of Service includes a Monthly Download Policy that places limits on profile downloads.

  • Standard LinkedIn users can export 100 profiles per month, per seat via PDF

  • LinkedIn Recruiter users can export 200 profiles per month, per seat via PDF

Here are a few strategies to lower your profile consumption before you hit the limit.

  1. Prioritize new or high-value profiles

  2. Only refresh when something likely changed (like a job change)

  3. Before a refresh, check to see whether the primary experience is still relevant—if so, avoid a refresh

  4. If there are fewer than 3 experience records that need updating, manually update instead of using a credit

  5. Coordinate with your team to avoid duplicate refreshes
