Black box insurance could help you save money on your insurance if you drive carefully.

You get a small device through the post within a few days of your policy starting. It plugs into your car to collect data on things like speed and how smoothly you drive. At renewal, you’ll get a discount if you’ve driven well.

This way of insuring has helped many drivers get more affordable insurance and Ticker is making it work for even more groups of people.

What is a black box?

A black box is a small device that uses telematics technology to collect data on how you drive. The Ticker device plugs into a port in your car called the Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) port, which is what a mechanic uses to run diagnostic testing.

The Ticker device is made by a company called Trakm8, one of the foremost telematics providers in the UK. It's included in the cost of your policy and it comes through the letterbox, so you don't need to worry about being home for it.
