Selling tickets online with Ticket Tailor allows you to get paid directly for your ticket sales.

Ticket funds never touch our bank account. Your ticket money is sent to your online payment processing account (e.g. your Stripe account) directly after a ticket is purchased.

How to set up payments to take money for ticket sales

How to take online payments for your ticket sales

  • From your Ticket Tailor dashboard, head to 'Settings' in the top menu, and then select 'Payment systems' from the left-hand menu.

  • From here, you can enable online payments by connecting a payment processor.

    • We recommend connecting a Stripe account (but you can explore alternative payment providers).

    • Click 'Enable online payments' in the 'Online payments (powered by Stripe) section, where a new webpage will open to get started and set up a Stripe account. If you already have a Stripe account, you can use the same email address to connect to your existing account.

  • Alternatively, you can opt to take payments offline (e.g. via bank transfer or cash on-the-door).

  • To access alternative payment providers and offline payments, click on 'More options including PayPal, Square and offline payments'.

  • You can also use a combination of the above options. Note that each option will determine what your customer sees at the final stage of your checkout.

  • The below shows an example of a checkout page connected to Stripe:

How to get your payout

When you sell tickets online, your ticket buyer pays you directly into your Stripe, PayPal or Square account. You will then get the ticket money as a payout to your bank.

  • Money from your ticket orders is sent instantly to your online payment account (Stripe, Square or PayPal).

  • Log in to your online payment account to manage your payout schedule (in other words, when your ticket money is sent to your bank account).

Stripe

  • Stripe will typically pay out to your bank account 7 days after the money was paid to you. So if someone buys a ticket from you today, you will see the money in your bank account in 7 days' time. You can also configure it to pay out in batches at a time that is convenient for you, e.g. at the end of the month.

πŸ’‘ Things to note

  • Some ticketing companies won't pay out your funds until after your event, which can leave you in a tricky situation if you need to pay event-related expenses. With Ticket Tailor the money goes directly to you, cutting us out completely.

  • You can sell your tickets for free by adding a small booking fee to offset your Ticket Tailor and online payment account fees.

  • Your payouts are secure. For more info, read: Are my payouts secure?

  • Your Ticket Tailor account is different from your Stripe, Square or PayPal account. You can manage most things from Ticket Tailor, but you should keep your online payment account details safe, as you will need to log in there from time to time.

  • When creating a Stripe Square or PayPal account for the first time, look out for emails asking for additional verification requirements. If you don't reply to these quickly, your account may place holds on your funds, affecting your payout schedule.
