You can add your custom domain name to your box office to add a bit of professional polish. For example, you could change your site from https://buytickets.at/yourboxofficename
to events.yourboxoffice.com
.
💡 Custom domains are a paid feature. Custom domains are included in White label, or you can purchase it separately. Check out our fees.
How to connect your domain name
At the bottom of your event page, under the 'Event settings' heading, you will see a checkbox to 'Add your own domain'. Select this to add your custom domain.
A pop up will confirm the additional price to add a custom domain. Click 'Activate' to agree to add it to your billing.
At this point, you can finish creating your event and add your custom domain details later. Or, you can click 'Continue setup' to do it in another tab. (But don't forget to save your event so you don't lose all of your work so far!)
You will be taken to 'Box office settings' > 'Billing' > 'Custom domain'
Add your sub-domain
a CNAME record will be generated.
Log in to your Domain Name provider (e.g. GoDaddy, Square space, Wix, etc).
Go to DNS Settings (or similar).
Copy the CNAME record from your Ticket Tailor Box office into your provider.
It may be a few minutes before it's approved, but then you will see your CNAME listed under your DNS records.
Verify your DNS entry by checking the "Custom Domain" section in your Ticket Tailor dashboard. Once the domain is correctly set up, its status will change to "Active."
It may take up to 1 hour for your custom domain to activate after completing these steps (it's usually a lot quicker!), and , it may take up to 24 hours for DNS records to propagate globally, so configurations might not take effect immediately.
Why should I use a Custom domain?
Using a custom domain delivers a smoother, more professional experience for your ticket buyers. The website they visit will always be yours, which can build trust in the buyer journey.
Ticket sales happen directly on your own domain. That’s essential for accurate conversion tracking with tools like Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, helping you get the insights you need to grow.
If using the widget, your entire buyer transaction will remain on your website, instead of opening in a new tab.
💡 Things to note
If you're using a custom domain with your Store, your custom domain will apply to the store URL, similar to
https://tickets.YOUR_DOMAIN.com/events/YOUR_BOX_OFFICE_NAME/store
If you turn off your custom domain and then later decide to reactivate it within a few months, the previous settings should be saved and you shouldn't need to reconnect your custom domain.
You can also add on your custom domain from your Billing 'Overview', or the Custom domain page directly.
If you don't have a custom domain name, you can use any domain name service provider to set up a custom domain. If you’re looking for suggestions, we recommend GoDaddy. as their admin interface is relatively easy to use.
Connecting domain names isn't always easy, but it is out of our control. If you need further help, we suggest speaking to a technical person you know or emailing your domain name provider support and sending this help page link.
