Someone transferred a ticket to you through the Tick'it app, and now you'd like to get a refund or resell it. But you're not sure if you can get the money back? Here's how it works.
When a ticket is refunded or resold, the refund is automatically sent back to the payment method used during the original purchase β whether that was a credit/debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cash/wallet (Whish/Bob Finance/OMT). Since a transfer on Tick'it doesn't involve any payment on the platform, the ticket is considered a free ticket for the recipient β even if money changed hands outside of Tick'it.
This means the refund goes directly to the original buyer who purchased and transferred the ticket to you, not to you.
If the ticket was a gift, or if you paid the person outside of Tick'it (cash, bank transfer, etc.), the only way to get your money back is to arrange it directly with the person who transferred the ticket to you.
β οΈ Warning: If you paid someone outside of the Tick'it platform, we have no record of that transaction and unfortunately cannot help in case of fraud or disputes. We strongly recommend only using Tick'it's official purchase, transfer, and resale features to keep your transactions protected.
Your Options
Ask the original buyer to request a refund from the event organizer. If approved, they'll receive the refund and can reimburse you directly.
Resell the ticket on the Tick'it marketplace β if resale is enabled for the event, you can list it and receive the payment yourself when it sells.
