We’ve made some changes to the look and feel of TTRS, here's what's new:
What's new?

This update isn’t just about what you see. We’ve made some changes to the technology behind TTRS. By upgrading the tech now, we’re laying the groundwork for new interactive game modes and features. We can’t say too much just yet, but there are brilliant things cooking in the Rock Stars kitchen. 🎸

It's completely free!
What's changing?
It’s the same TT Rock Stars you know and trust - just with a fresh look designed to keep learners excited and engaged. See below for more detail. 👇
When?
12th August 2025 - estimated time is 9am British Summer Time.
Do I need to do anything?
Nope. The upgrade is automatic (and free). Just two small checks:
Using the app? Make sure it’s updated to the latest version. If you are still seeing the old version of the app after the 12TH August then this means the app will need to be updated. We recommend that if you have any issues, you delete and reinstall the app.
Using older iPads (iOS12 or earlier?) - The Glow Up won't be compatible with these devices and so will automatically revert to the old version. This doesn't impact anything other than the look of the game. Users can still participate in all the normal activities (games, earning coins), whether they're on the older version or the Glow Up. They'll just see this image when they login.
What’s staying the same?
🟢 Logins – Learners log in exactly as they do now.
🟢 Game types – All their favourites are still here.
🟢 Progress – They pick up right where they left off.
🟢 Coins & avatars – No changes.
New game screen design:
The game screens have been given a makeover, with new graphics to inspire and engage learners!
New colour themes:
Learners have 5 new colour themes to choose from, as well as the existing 6 accessibility colour themes.
They select a colour theme by clicking their avatar, then Settings.
New game animations:
Every game now includes a unique animated countdown instead of the original 5,4,3,2,1 countdown.
New options to remove distractions:
Some learners prefer a simplified game interface so they can focus completely on the questions. In Settings, they have the option to:
Turn the game background to a plain background:
Turn on declutter mode to remove all distractions, including the background, guitar, next question and more:
Turn off the animated countdown and instead have 5 lighting bolts counting down to the game start:
All these settings can be found by the learner clicking their avatar, then clicking Settings.
New Avatar Store Items
To celebrate the Glow Up launch, we've added new guitars to the avatar store! These are available now and match the guitars in the new colour themes.
I have a learner/s who would prefer to stay on the old version. Is that possible?
We hope you love the new version and if you have any issues please email us at support@mathscircle.com first, as it may be something technical that we can resolve.
If you have a learner who's very keen to go back to the original look of the game, you can follow these steps:
1) Wait for the 12th August (when the Glow Up happens)
2) Ask the learner to log in and click their avatar, then "Settings"
3) Click "Disable Glow Up" as shown below.
