Best for large schools or complicated class changes as they can be done in bulk; however it comes with a...

WARNING!
To update the classes of existing students you must upload them along with their usernames. So that will require downloading a spreadsheet with their log ins first.

Follow these steps or watch the video below.

  1. Go to Account > Classes, tick all the classes and press Download (at the top) > Logins Spreadsheet.

  2. In the spreadsheet that opens, change the students' maths and/or pastoral classes and Yeargroup.
(You can change any of the students' data EXCEPT their usernames because our uploader scans the usernames in the spreadsheet to figure out if the student already exists or not.)

  3. Return to the Classes page and press Update > Upload CSV.

  4. Upload the saved .csv file or copy the student data in the spreadsheet and paste it into the box on the right of the student uploader.

  5. Follow the uploader steps. It will do all the heavy lifting... creating the classes for you and putting students into their new classes while preserving student' performance data.

But this will take me AGES as I have loads of students to move.

You're right, it'll take some time but it's better than deleting and starting again as the students get to carry on where they left off, which is important for our clever question algorithm.
Note that if your school was able to use Wonde to hook up to your school database, it would handle these class changes in a fraction of the time.

Tip: requires the ability to sort columns in Excel (Not sure how? Watch this guide video)

You'll probably have two spreadsheets - the Log Ins spreadsheet you downloaded from our platform and a spreadsheet from your school management system with all their new classes.

Sort BOTH spreadsheets by year + first name + last name.

With any luck you'll end up with students in the same order in both spreadsheets so that you can copy the class column from the school spreadsheet to the log ins spreadsheet.
