Fun is optional but recommended! πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ€πŸ€˜

By all means use our curated YouTube rock playlist while students work on the sheets!

Baseline and Check instructions in more detail

  1. Having handed out the packs, get the class to turn to the baseline/check page are reassure them that this sheet is about showing you what they can do. It doesn't matter if they make mistakes or don't know the answer. You could say:

"The scores will allow me to tell you in a few weeks how much amazing progress you've made"

  2. Set the timer to 5 minutes on the Playlist page.

  3. Tell them "The rock clock is starting in 5...4...3...2...1...start!" then you start the timer.

  4. After 5 minutes, ask your class to stop, wherever they are up to.
Call out the answers while they mark.

  5. Get them to work out their scores and record their scores.
