Sharing Devices Boosts Maths Talk:

When students play NumBots using shared devices, they naturally engage in discussions about the questions, levels, and stages using mathematical language. This practice encourages them to explain their thought processes, which strengthens their understanding and fluency in maths.

Mix Up the Seating Plan:

Pairing students who are confident with NumBots with those who need more support can be incredibly beneficial. This peer support system allows students to learn from each other, and explaining concepts to peers can reinforce a student's understanding.

Whole Class Reflection:

Utilise your interactive whiteboard to bring up NumBots questions and have students work together in pairs or groups on the carpet to solve them. This method encourages students to discuss their solutions with different peers than their usual learning partners, enhancing their fluency and confidence in maths.

Celebrate Role Models:

Print out stage completion certificates from the Certificate Hub and distribute them in your weekly celebration assemblies. Recognising achievements will inspire more students to strive for their certificates – you might even need extra time for all the awards!
