How to add the Sessions widget to the Discovery Stream

This article shows you how to add Sessions to the Discovery Stream so learners can easily find and join available sessions directly from their dashboard.

✅ Before you start

Before adding the widget, check the following:

  • Check if the Sessions feature is enabled

  • Make sure you’ve created a Session

📌 Add the Sessions widget

You can add Sessions to the Discovery Stream in two ways:

  • Sessions widget – shows all available Sessions per learner (based on automation setup)

  • Single Session activity – add a specific Session to another widget (e.g., spotlighted activity, journey overview)

This article focuses on the Sessions widget, which is designed specifically for Session content.

🖼 Add your session to the widget

🔧 Step 1: Publish the Session

  1. Go to Control > Content > Sessions

  2. Search and click on the Session you want to publish

  3. Click the pencil icon to edit

  4. Tick the Published checkbox

  5. Click Save

🔧 Step 2: Add the Sessions widget

  1. Go to Control > Behaviour > Stream

  2. Click the + icon above or below your stream widgets

  3. Choose Sessions from the widget list

  4. Fill in a Name (this is the identifier used in Control)

  5. Fill in a Header (this is what learners will see on the dashboard, e.g., Upcoming Sessions)

You’re all set! 🎉 Now that your Sessions widget is visible, make sure you begin planning in your event series so learners can actually join and complete their Sessions.

💡 Tip:

Learners will only see Sessions they are eligible for, based on their group and your automation setup.
