Widgets serve as customisable elements on the discover streams, allowing you to personalise homepages for your people. They are interactive tiles embedded within the discovery stream and designed to showcase different types of content in various formats, enhancing the user experience.

All widgets are created and managed within Control > Behaviour > Stream.


Customisation

Widgets can be tailored to be visible to a specific set of users or for a limited time. This customization is achieved through the setup of automations.

Available widgets

Add widgets to the Discovery stream. You can choose from the various formats listed below. Using mixed widget types keeps your users engaged and surprised.

Different types of widgets

Highlights a single activity, drawing attention and encouraging user engagement.

Highlights a specific journey, providing a focused overview for users.

Highlights a single programme, ideal for promoting new or featured content.

Displays various programmes available to users, offering a broader view. To customise this widget, you don't need automations.

Acts as an activity slider, presenting a range of activities.

Provides a tile of a single journey.

Offers a sliding view of various journeys, enabling users to browse through them easily.

Lists different sessions, making it easy for users to find and join relevant sessions. Users are shown only with the sessions that they have access to. Therefore, no automation is needed for this widget.

A unique, interactive display that can be used for various purposes, such as showcasing achievements or news.

Engages users in providing feedback about their mood or experience, useful for gauging user satisfaction and engagement.


Best practices for widget use

  • Variety and engagement: Mixing different types of widgets can keep the Discovery stream fresh and engaging. It prevents content from becoming monotonous and maintains user interest.

  • Strategic placement: Consider the placement and order of widgets. Prioritise important or timely content at the top or in prominent positions.

  • Regular updates: Keep the content within widgets updated to ensure relevancy and to encourage repeated user visits.
