Togal.AI allows you to invite external collaborators, such as clients, consultants, or subcontractors, to view or work on a specific project on drawings and takeoff information without giving them access to your entire account.
External users are defined as having an email address with a domain that is different from your organization's domain.
Togal's external collaboration feature won't work on internal email addresses.
When external users are added to your Togal Project Set, they will receive an email invitation with a link to join your project.
There is no extra cost to your organization or to the participant for working on your projects. External users can be added to as many sets as you would like.
Find the "Share" icon from either the Project Menu or the Drawing Editor, click on it to initiate a share.
A menu will pop-up allowing you to share your set with users. Click the "Add User" icon.
The menu will expand allowing you to add users and select a role. Enter the email of the external person, hit enter on your keyboard and choose their permission level.
Permission levels
When sharing, you have several options for controlling what each participant can do:
Owner: You, the creator of the Set, have full control over all permissions and settings.
Manager: Can edit their own view, modify other users' views, and manage permissions and participants, just like the Owner.
Editor: Can edit their own view and see all other views but cannot modify them.
Isolated Editor: Can create and edit their own view but cannot see or interact with other views. Ideal for users who need to work in isolation.
Viewer: Can see all views but cannot edit.
Once you click on "Add User" the user will be added to the Set as a participant and will receive an invitation to create an account and begin collaborating with you on the project Set. The email invitation will have the subject "Welcome to Togal!" and look like this:
On clicking the "Activate Account" button, the user will be led directly to your project once they set their password and sign in.
An external user who does not have a Togal subscription will be prompted to create their own account and be granted free access to the application to work on the project Set you invited them to.
External users will not be able to create a new project, Set, or upload any files into your organization.
You can revoke access to them on a Set by Set basis at any time.
