Once your Library is built, you can easily pull the standardized classifications from your library into any project, or from your project back to the library. This ensures consistency and saves you from creating classifications from scratch every time.
You can drag over individual classifications or classification folders into your Quantities Panel to use for your takeoffs.
You can use "Classification Folders", "Classification Subfolders" and "Classifications" from both your "Organization" and "Private" libraries for any project.
To Access Your Library
1. Open the Library window
From the Drawing Editor, click on the library symbol on the top right hand corner of the Quantities Panel.
2. Choose the library type
Select Organization to use your shared company library
Select Private to use your personal library
3. Select a Set
Now select the library "Set" you would like to use, click the arrow to expand and see all the folders and classifications available within.
Add Library Items to Your Project
You can import or drag over any "Classification Folders", "Subfolders" or individual "Classifications" into the Quantities Panel.
Click the checkboxes next to all the classifications and/or folders you wanted to import for this specific project. You can select an entire folder (like “09 - Finishes”) to import all the items within it at once, or search through the library and select individual items.
Confirm the Import by clicking the “Import” button. Alternatively, you can directly drag the selected classifications to your Quantities Panel.
The classifications and/or folders will be reflected on the Quantities Panel. These classifications can now be used in your takeoff.
Note: Any changes you make to these classifications within the project will not affect the master versions in your Library. This allows you to tweak an item for a project-specific need without altering your company standard.
Save Project Items Back to the Library
You can also update your library through this library window by dragging the classifications/folders from the Quantities Panel back into the library set so you can reuse them in future projects.
Click the Library icon on the Quantities Panel to open the Library window.
Select the Library you want to save to.
In the Quantities Panel, select the classifications (or folders) you want to add to the library. You can press Shift and click to select continuous items, or press Ctrl/Cmd and click to select multiple non-continuous items.
Drag and drop it into the appropriate Library in the Library window.
You can then click Cancel to close the Library window. This automatically stores the items in the library for reuse in future projects.
