Exporting Takeoff Data to Excel

Use Export to download your takeoff data into Excel for pricing, reporting, or integration with other estimating systems. Togal.AI provides a powerful and customizable Excel export function, which is based on the drawings and options you select in the Export window.

How to Export

  1. Open the Export Excel menu
    Click the Export Excel button in the top-right corner.This is where your takeoff data are consolidated.

  2. Choose drawings to export
    By default, the export shows quantities from all the drawings with takeoffs.

    Click Drawings to select which drawings to include. You can select to export only the current drawing, or combine and export takeoffs from multiple drawings within the same set.

  3. Customize the Export (Optional): You can customize the export by setting up the grouping, filter, and number of columns to export. You can often choose:

    • Grouping: How the data is organized in the Excel sheet.

      • The default grouping by classification type. You might also group by drawing classification folder, or custom breakdown fields.

      • Click "Group" to select up to 4 groupings for your data.

    • Filter: Narrow the export to only the data you want. You can apply multiple filters.

    • Columns: Which data columns to include (e.g., Output Quantities, Units, ID, Breakdown tier, etc.).

  4. Generate and Download:

    To export to excel click the "Excel" icon, then choose from the following Excel File Options.

    • Select "Screen View" to export the data hierarchy you have onscreen.

    • Select "Full Export" to get the full raw data, best if you want to create a pivot table from it.

After the selection, click “Download”. The system will then generate the Excel file, and download it to your computer.

Note: You cannot export takeoffs from separate sets within a project.
