Are the heavy metals safe in the trace mineral complex?
Are the heavy metals safe in the trace mineral complex?

Our seaweed ingredients are complete in their natural trace mineral complex’s, these contain some heavy metals but they are at trace levels.

The heavy metals found in the trace mineral complex of products containing our natural minerals like Calcium, Bone Aid, Iodine and Magnesium are in tiny amounts and perfectly safe to consume. These elements are naturally found in the seaweed. Nearly all food we eat contains trace elements such as these. They are part of the world we live in, including the soil we grow our food in, and have been part of the food chain since life started. Our bodies are capable of processing such elements in small quantities with no ill side effects.

To give tangible examples:

Mercury: The average amount of mercury in an oven-baked cod fillet is 2.0µg, or 0.002mg. The Mercury in 1 dose of our calcium product (2 capsules) is 0.0019µg or 0.0000019mg. That means there is 1000x less mercury in each dose of calcium than a piece of cod. That is the equivalent of taking 35 packs (2100 capsules) of our product in 1 day just to match the amount in one portion of cod, a relatively low mercury fish.

Aluminium: We get about 5mg of aluminium from the fruit and veg in the average 5-a-day recommendation. That assumes 2 fruit and 3 veg (veg has quite a bit more aluminium in). In our Calcium product, there is 0.4277200mg aluminium in the recommended 2 capsules a day dose. Again, this means we get over 1000% more aluminium from just the fruit and veg in our diet than you'd get in a dose of the calcium product.

Our bodies are designed to process such small amounts, and the supplement won't cause any buildup of any heavy metals.
