What is Topstep's Payout Policy?

Express Funded Account:
Traders can request a payout of up to $5,000 or 50% of their account balance after accumulating five winning trading days per payout request. A winning trading day is counted when a day’s Net PNL is $200 or more.
Winning days do not need to be consecutive days. After taking a payout, a trader must complete five additional winning trading days from the date the most recent payout is processed before being eligible for their next payout. This is required for each payout request.
Live Funded Account:
Traders can request a payout of up to 50% of their account balance after accumulating five winning trading days per payout request. A winning trading day is counted when a day’s Net PNL is $200 or more. The maximum of $5,000 per payout is only in the Express Funded Account.
Winning days do not need to be consecutive days. After taking a payout, a trader must complete five additional winning trading days from the date the most recent payout is processed before being eligible for their next payout. This is required for each payout request.
Daily Payouts in the Live Funded Account:
Once a Live Funded Trader has accumulated 30 non-consecutive winning trading days (this means you've earned $200 or more Net PNL each day for 30 days across the Express Funded Account and the Live Funded Account), you unlock Daily Payouts and can access up to 100% of your balance in the Live Funded Account. Winning days from the Express Funded Account count toward your 30-day total, but only traders with a Live Funded Account can request daily payouts and access 100% of their balance.
This means that for future payouts in the Live Funded Account, you can request up to 100% of your balance with each payout request. Payouts can be requested once a day, for any amount*, up to 100%! *Minimum Payout Request is $125.00. Keep in mind that if a full 100% payout is requested, the Live Funded Account will be closed since the balance will be brought to the Maximum Loss Limit.
Full 100% Payout: If a funded trader requests to voluntarily close their Live Funded Account
After accumulating 30 winning trading days, if you'd like to request a payout of more than 50% of your total account balance in the Live Funded Account, please contact the Trader Support Team. These requests are currently processed manually and cannot be submitted through the payout request form.
You should always pay yourself after a few winning days but don’t forget that trading isn’t a one-and-done activity. Pay yourself while also positioning yourself for the long haul. Treat your account like a personal brokerage account, with the goal of building it as much as possible, so you are never in a situation where you can’t trade the next day.

Additional Payout Details
Called Up to Live:
A trader may request a payout of up to $5,000 or 50% of the account balance if they are called up to the Live Funded Account. The trader is eligible for a payout even if they recently took a payout and have not reached the next 5 winning days.
The starting balance of the Live Funded Account will then be the account size of the largest Trading Combine or the remaining current balance of the Express Funded Account(s), whichever is lower. Click here to learn more.
Voluntary Closure:
Express Funded Account: If a trader requests to close their Express Funded Account, they may take a final payout if they are eligible to do so. Their remaining account balance will then be forfeited.
Live Funded Account: If a funded trader requests to close their Live Funded Account and has at least 30 winning trading days of $200 or more across the Express Funded Account and the Live Funded Account, they may request up to 100% of their account balance. If a full 100% payout is requested, the Live Funded Account will be closed since the account balance will be brought to the Maximum Loss Limit.
How can I Request a Payout?
You can request a payout through this form in our app. Payouts are processed daily. Once requested it may take Topstep 1-3 business days to approve your request. As long as you have submitted your information correctly, and you've been approved, you will receive your payout within 10 business days.
When a payout is requested and approved, and all appropriate forms are submitted (ACH / Wire / SWIFT info & KYC documents), we will remove the funds from the trader's account. Topstep will then start the process of sending the funds to the trader. Your Payout arrival will depend on the payment method.
When submitting your Adobe documents for a payout request, you'll be prompted to enter an email address. You must use the email address associated with your Topstep account. If a different email address is used, your payout request will be delayed. Please note that only one Adobe banking form is needed regardless of the number of payout requests submitted. The forms should only be resubmitted if your banking information changes or your government-issued ID has expired.
The available payout methods are:
Wise: 1-3 business days
ACH: 1-3 business days
Wire/SWIFT: 3-5 business days
International Wire/SWIFT: up to 5-10 business days
These transfer times are only estimates and may be impacted by additional reviews or requests for information at the discretion of the payment providers or the Finance & Compliance Team. Most payment providers, especially banks, do not process payments on weekends and public holidays.
Occasionally, a bank outside of the United States might request a verification letter stating why you are requesting payouts or receiving deposits to your bank account. Please note that while Topstep does not provide verification letters for payouts, you can provide your bank with a copy of your Express Funded Account Agreement for verification purposes.
What is the Profit Split?

Traders will receive 100% of the profits from payouts, up to $10,000
After the first $10,000 of funds have been received by the trader, the profit split will become 90/10, with the trader receiving 90% of payouts and Topstep retaining 10% of the requested payout.
The payout policy is per trader and can be across multiple Funded Accounts. You will keep 100% of your profits until your payouts across Funded Accounts cumulatively add up to $10,000. Once your cumulative payouts exceed $10,000, you will be subject to the 90/10 profit split.
Once the payout request is processed, the Maximum Loss Limit will automatically be set to $0 (the trader cannot allow the account balance to reach or go below $0 after a payout).
What Happens When I Get Called Up to the Live Markets?
Below is the process of moving to a Live Funded Account:
When Topstep determines that a trader has shown consistent success in the Express Funded Account, that trader will receive an email to move to a Live Funded Account. At that time, all open Express Funded Accounts will be closed.
Traders moving into a Live Funded Account will have a starting balance based on their total balance across all Express Funded Accounts. Your Live Funded Account starting balance will now be set by your total Express Funded Account balance(s), up to $50K, $100K, or $150K (your largest Express Funded Account size). A payout from each Express Funded Account can be requested during your move from the Express Funded Account to the Live account. The Live Funded Account Maximum Loss Limit is set at $0.
Once you have a Live Funded Account, you cannot activate new Express Funded Accounts. You may continue to pass Trading Combines that will remain on-hold until your Live Funded Account is no longer active.
5 Payouts = Transfer from Express Funded Account to Live Funded Account
In order to give traders a clear and simplified path to Live funding, once you take five payouts in any single Express Funded Account, you’ll be called up to Live. This will bring your winning days and momentum with you into your Live Funded Account.
Does 5 payouts in one Express Funded Account guarantee a call-up?
Our Risk Team will review each Express Funded Account that has taken 5 payouts.
What if I have three winning days in one Express Funded Account and two in another?
Winning days have to all be in one Express Funded Account to qualify.
What happens after I transfer to Live?
Your winning days from Express Funded Account transfer with you, and once you hit 30 winning days in Live, you unlock uncapped daily payouts.
Do I have to request a Live call-up after 5 payouts?
No, the Risk Team reviews accounts once you reach 5 payouts in a single Express Funded Account. You do not need to contact us for a review.
What if I want to keep trading my Express Funded Account after 5 payouts instead of moving to Live?
After 5 payouts, you will be moved to Live. The goal should be to get called up to Live where you unlock better benefits like uncapped daily payouts.
