What is Photo Mosaic?
Photo Mosaic is a stunning feature in Touchpix software, which takes your photos to a new scale. Users can integrate their photos and AI-generated photos to create a stunning, large-scale mosaic with each individual picture.
How does Photo Mosaic work?
Whether printed or displayed digitally, Photo Mosaic creates an image composition out of each individual photo. This feature can be accessed with an Enterprise Subscription or the new Mosaic Pass. This composition is based on coordinates, and each picture is named with a column and row number.
Mosaic Fill
You can use this option to fill up the mosaic with original or rendered images if you run out of unique guest files, ensuring a complete look every time.
In your event settings, find "photo mosaic"
Tap on "export", then "preview"
Tap on the three dots, in the top right corner
Random Image: Pick any random image from the gallery to fill spces in the mosaic
Fill the mosaic: You can fill the mosaic using only original photos, or a mix of original photos and rendered files.
How to set it up in the event?
Photo Mosaic has its own location in the event manager, and can be easily found under 'Photo' tab.
Step 1: Select an 'overlay' for the photo session. The system uses this to determine the size of the photos within the mosaic. If you don't have one, you'll need to create it in the 'Designer' section first.
Step 2: Upload the mosaic design ('artwork'). This is the final composition that the collection of photos will form. You can adjust its position and opacity in the settings to get a preview of the final look.
Step 3: Take photos using the selected overlay. When you take each photo, the system creates two images:
One image with the selected overlay, just like a normal photo session.
One image with the specific piece of the mosaic design that corresponds to that photo.
Step 4: Complete the mural. The system will tell you where to place the image with the design piece to complete the overall artwork. The location for each photo is assigned randomly to the remaining empty spots. Once the mosaic is finished, you can print or save it. To start over, simply reset the mural.
Printing compatibility with Photo Mosaic
This feature has a wide range of printer compatibility to ensure the integration with any photo booth. This is included, but not limited to PC with Windows Print Server or macOS printing. Any printer that can be installed on a Mac or PC, is compatible with this function for printing.
The compatibility with Printpix is a bit limited so far. In general —for this kind of printing— ink printers are used, which are not yet compatible with Printpix. Also, the paper size used is in general different, since there are no specific rules for mosaics.
After finishing a session, you will be prompted to select 'Mosaic' or 'Photo', to choose which of the pictures you want to print.
