What is the Designer?
The designer is a built-in tool by Touchpix where you can create, upload, and load images to your event. Some of these functionalities are:
Select a template size
Overlay addition
Upload stickers
Write custom text
Editing by layers
With the designer, you mainly choose the orientation, size, and photo positioning for the final session result.

Overlays and stickers
It is important to note the difference between these two. Each one has upload requirements, different functions and their own behavior on the final result.
Overlays
An overlay is a transparent PNG file, with a transparency layer, that is added over the photo template. It is usually used as a frame or decoration, required to be transparent. This overlay commonly contains the text, ornaments and different decoration to comply each event topic.
The file upload is very strict, it must be PNG with transparency layer. If it's not accepted by the designer, it shall be re-edited, instead of being uploaded to the stickers, as it will behave differently.
While the option to create overlays in 4K is available, you may do this only when a wired GoPro camera will be used. Otherwise, any other camera—such as iPhone, iPad, Android native lens, DSLR cameras or wireless GoPro—will not process this result.
Stickers
As its name states, stickers are used as, well, stickers. This file can be PNG, JPEG, or JPG, as they don't need to be transparent.
The main function of stickers is to be at the front layer, no matter if this is changed on the layer design. It is useful when you want to add an image over every other, including overlay.
Text
A text editor is also included. Here, you can choose between the available font families, size, alignment, color (and it's opacity), background color, and spacing.
This text editor contains a wide range of available fonts, making it easy to add an easily customizable text that matches the overlay and event thematic.
Note: Some special characters or alphabets different from Latin may be font-dependant, making some characters incompatible with certain fonts.
Layer design
On the bottom-right corner of the designer, we can find a menu labelled as "layers". As it says, it allows the user to edit the position, size and layering. You can move layers up and down to decide what shows in the front, or in the back, as well as writing manually the size and position.
Displayed as an "eye" icon, you can hide or show different layers from displaying in the designer. Note that any hidden layer won't be saved to the event.
Specifying the size and position can be helpful in case you want to match the photo template with the exact size and position of your externally generated design.
Design library
Touchpix offers a big library with preset designs to cover dozens of different events, celebrations, holidays, and the list keeps going.
This library can be found on the left panel, and there is also an option to download it, giving the user the chance to show the different designs to their clients.
Summary
To sum up, the designer is a simple and complete tool that allows an easy creation process for overlays and templates. Although you may find certain limitations, the designer will accept externally created transparent PNG files and stickers, which removes any limit from the overlay setting.
Errors can happen, sometimes due to file sizes (MB or px.), PNG files that do not contain transparency layers, or adding the files to the wrong function. It is important to note the messages that the designer leaves and carefully following the steps as indicated for a seamless addition.
