How to connect your spinner

Connect and control compatible 360 platforms to Touchpix app for automatic spinning

About spinner direct connection

Touchpix app allows the connection of compatible 360 platforms directly to the app, via Bluetooth, for automatic spinning. When connecting these devices, they will automatically start spinning once recording start, making it easier for a drop-off event, or to reduce the manual control over the platform and app.

These compatible brands can be found on the following list:

Custom platforms with a Bluetooth controller

Since there are a lot of different brands and Bluetooth controllers, which cannot be all integrated, we have compatibility for any other spinners with a remote controller.

This integration is based on the phone's gyroscope and motion detection. It can be easily enabled within the event manager:

  1. Open your Touchpix app or event manager

  2. On the event settings, find "trigger session"

  3. Enable "motion trigger"

Now, when you tap a video function to record, a screen will pop up. Then, the spinner should be triggered manually with the remote controller. Once the app detects movement, it will start the countdown.

Connect your compatible spinner

If you have one of the compatible brands, you can connect directly your platform to automatically spin once the record starts.

  1. Turn your controller on and select the required mode (each brand has one, check the user manual on your platform)

  2. Now, on your Touchpix app, open Settings side menu.

  3. Select 'Bluetooth Methods' option under 'Bluetooth' category.

  4. Select your brand

  5. Tap on 'Connect to [Brand]' and wait for your device to be listed on the screen.

  6. Select on your device and tap on 'Connect' button.

  7. Go back, and you will see your device's name as connected.

Connect your incompatible spinner (motion trigger)

This option, allows the user to integrate non-compatible brands by starting to record once movement is detected. In the case your platform cannot be connected and controlled in the app, you can still use it by doing the following:

  1. Go to your event settings, followed by 'trigger session'

  2. Enable motion trigger

  3. Enable 360 autostop to stop recording once a full 360º spin has being detected (optional)

  4. Modify the 360 offset, which sets the amount of degrees the platform must rotate to start recording (optional)

  5. Now that you have motion trigger enabled, tap on any video recording function, a screen will appear

  6. Trigger the platform with its remote control

  7. The app will detect movement, and will start recording

Keynotes

  • When using 'motion trigger', remove magnetic cases from the main device, as it may alter the gyroscope functionality

  • For generic platforms with the compatible Bluetooth controller, turn the app to "default" mode, in the Bluetooth settings.
