The constraint log is a cumulative report of all constraints identified on a project.

  • "Constraint Description" column will be the description of the constraint as it is written in the plan

  • "Constrained Tasks" column, there will be a list of the tickets that are directly affected by the constraint- i.e. what will be delayed or unable to be completed until the constraint is complete

  • "Priority" column will show the three levels (On Track, Needs Attention & Critical) of status depending on progress towards removing the constraint and importance of the activities constraint

  • "Date Identified" column will show the date the constraint was created

  • "Requested By Date" column will show the day the constraint was requested to be completed by

  • "Planned Date" column will show the date that the user plans to complete the constrain by a user (this is done by opening the constraint to edit mode)

  • "Completed Date" column shows the date that the constraint has been completed

  • "Assigned To" column shows an individual who is responsible for the constraint

  • "Notes" column shows the notes that were typed into the constraint while it was in edit mode

How to run a Constraint Log:

  1. Click on the Reports tab in the left side of the Plan View

  2. Select Constraint Log from the Report type dropdown

  3. Select the desired filters/layout

  4. Click Run Report and then Open Report

The constraint log is able to be filtered by time period, by role, by plan, and by completion
