Can divisions and flights be re-filled when I manually update Handicap Indexes?

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

Q: I run a league using divisions and flights that are re-filled each week based on the player's Handicap Index. When I run my Handicap Index update, can divisions and flights be re-filled based on the updated Handicap Index?

A: Yes, you can enable a prompt that allows you to automatically refill selected divisions and flights in future rounds that have been planned (i.e., round rosters created or round sign-ups enabled) after manually updating Handicap Indexes (Rounds > Access "Handicap Service" to Update Handicap Index.)

To enable this feature, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to League/Event > League/Event Profile > General Settings > Division/Flights/Teams.

  2. Check the box to "Enable prompt to refill divisions and/or flights based on Handicap Index or Playing Handicap when Handicap Indexes has been updated from GHIN/WHS/etc." (as shown below).

  3. Click "Save."

Now that the feature has been enabled, when you run a Handicap Index update, you will see a pop-up asking if you would like to refill your divisions and flights created using Handicap Index or playing handicap. To do this, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to Golfers > Access GHIN/WHS/etc. to Update Handicap Index.

  2. Set your update method

  3. Select the starting round for updates.

  4. Press "Update."

  5. Once the update has been processed, you will see a pop-up asking you which divisions you would like to have updated, (as shown below).

  6. Select the division and/or flights to be updated. Note: If you have flights within divisions, you will first need to re-fill the divisions. You can then click "Refill Division/Flights" to refill the flights within the division.

  7. Pick the Future Rounds you would like to have updated. Note: Only planned future round (i.e., round rosters created or round sign-ups enabled) can be updated.

  8. Click "Refill."
