Overlapping Divisions

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

Overlapping Divisions may happen, for example, in a Men's Club Championship with a Mens Division and Senior Division. A senior player may elect to play in both divisions as shown below. If that is the case, there will be overlapping divisions and there is no need to be alarmed.

An instance where there should be no overlapping divisions would be a round with a Mens Division and Ladies Division.

If there is no overlap in your divisions, then you can create pairings by division. For example, the Men can be paired with the Men and the women can be paired with the women. When you go to "Create New Pairings", you will be asked to create the scheduling setup for the Ladies Division, then the Men's Division. If there are overlapping divisions, then you will not be able to create pairings by division, because the overlapping player cannot be in two different pairing groups at once.

If you need to resolve some overlapping divisions, then click the overlapping instance. For instance, click on the "Men + Senior" in the screenshot above.

You will be brought to the overlapping divisions tool. This tool can also be accessed by going to Rounds > Round Divisions/Flights/Teams.

The divisions you want to compare will be selected above. In the screenshot above, you will see the Men's Division and Womens Division being compared. Below the divisions are the player(s) who are currently in both divisions (causing the overlap). You can simply uncheck the division that the player should not be part of.
