Many tours and associations keep track of player scoring averages (in relation to par) and compile a season-long standings. These type of standings create an additional layer of season long competition.
Before setting up scoring average standings, keep in mind the following:
Only players listed in the Master Roster are eligible to be listed in the standings.
Only gross score standings can be tracked. You cannot create a net scoring average standings.
In this article, we will discuss how to set up, manage and manually upload scores for the scoring average standings.
Setting Up Scoring Average Standings:
To set up the scoring average standings, follow these instructions:
Contact support to enable the feature.
Go to Customer Center > Season Management > Scoring Average Standings.
Click "New Scoring Average Standings".
Enter the following:
Name: Enter the name of the standings (e.g., Junior Player of the Year, Amateur Player of the Year, Men's Player of the Year, etc).
Abbreviation: Enter an abbreviation for the standings that will be used in areas where the name is too long.
Number of Holes: Keep track of 18-hole or 9-hole scoring averages. In order for a score to be counted towards 9-hole averages, the player must have completed exactly 9 holes.
Ranking: Select the method of ranking. The standings can be ranked by Average to Par (often used in cases where multiple courses are played) or Average Strokes (often used when only one course is played).
Click "Save".
Repeat these steps to create any remaining scoring average standing categories.
