How can I Denote Amateurs and Professionals on the leaderboard and reports?

Updated over 4 months ago

This feature is available for the following products:

Q: I am running an event with amateurs and professionals. I would like them identified as one or the other on the leaderboard and printed material. How can I do this?

A: Follow the steps below:

  1. Assign your players as amateur or pro using one of the following methods:

    1. Via Spreadsheet: Add a new custom field (new column) that denotes whether each player is a professional or amateur (example below).

You can do this with a new roster spreadsheet (not yet uploaded) or a current (downloaded) roster spreadsheet. Save the spreadsheet. Go to Golfers > Upload Roster as Spreadsheet and upload the roster. Do not match the new column with any fields when uploading. For details on uploading an event roster via spreadsheet, Click Here.

    2. Individually through the Event Roster: Go to Golfers > Event/League Roster. Select the player then the "Registration" tab. Select "Pro" or "Amateur" (as shown below). Save the changes. Repeat the process until all players have been assigned as a pro or amateur.

  2. Go to Event > Event/League Profile > General Settings. Navigate to the "Pros and Amateurs" section (as shown below).

Select the player types (pros, amateurs, golfers without pro/am designation) who should receive a designation next to their name. Enter the designation on the right (Note: The designations "(p)" and "(a)" are used by default but can be overwritten). Save the changes.

  3. If the designations were added via spreadsheet, go back to the "Pros and Amateurs" section in the General Settings tab of the Event Profile. Click the option below to populate the "Pro or Amateur" field (as shown below).

Select the new custom field that was created in the spreadsheet and match the answers in that field with the correct answers (as shown below). Save the changes.

Once these steps are complete, your players can be denoted as Amateurs or Pros in the following areas:

  • Leaderboard

  • Edit Pairings Page

  • Mobile App Score Entry

  • Printed Material where custom fields are allowed
